How Do I Accept Ticketmaster Tickets?
Whether your tickets were sent through Ticketmaster.com or a team Account Manager, this guide will walk you through accepting the transfer and accessing your tickets on your mobile device.
Step 1: Check Your Email for the Ticket Transfer
You will receive a transfer email from either Ticketmaster or a team Account Manager. Here's how to recognize and respond to each:
If Your Transfer Came from Ticketmaster.com
Look for an email with a subject similar to:
"[Sender Name] sent you tickets"
Open the email and click Accept Tickets.
You'll be redirected to Ticketmaster's website to sign in or create an account.
If Your Transfer Came from a Team Account Manager
You may receive an email from a team's ticketing system (for example, a sports team, theater, or venue account).
Open the email on your smartphone and tap Accept Tickets.
You'll be prompted to log into that specific Account Manager portal.
Use the same email address that received the ticket transfer.
Don't have an account yet? Create one using the same email address where the tickets were sent.
Step 2: Log In or Create Your Account
When you click the acceptance link, you'll be asked to log in or create an account.
- Enter the same email address that received the tickets
- If the email isn't registered, you'll be prompted to create an account
- If the email is recognized, enter your password to continue
Forgot your password? Use the "Forgot Password?" option on the login screen to reset it.
Step 3: Download the Ticketmaster App
Download the Ticketmaster app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
The app provides the easiest way to access and manage your tickets.
After signing in:
- Tap My Tickets
- Select your event
- View your ticket information
Using a computer? Some ticket types will not display barcodes or QR codes on desktop devices. For best results, access your tickets from a smartphone.
If needed, you can also sign in at Ticketmaster.com using a web browser.
Step 4: Add Your Tickets to Your Mobile Wallet
Once you've accepted your tickets, you may have the option to add them to:
- Apple Wallet
- Google Wallet
This allows you to access your tickets even if internet service is limited near the venue.
Important Notes
- Once added to your wallet, tickets may no longer appear in your Ticketmaster account. This is normal.
- Some tickets may not display a barcode in your wallet. This is expected for SafeTix mobile tickets.
- SafeTix tickets use encrypted technology and remain valid even when a visible barcode is not displayed.
Having trouble adding tickets to your wallet? Don't worry. This step is optional. You can still scan your tickets directly from the Ticketmaster app.
Common Ticketmaster Issues and Questions
"Oops, Something Went Wrong" (Penguin Error)
This is a known Ticketmaster error that can occasionally appear after accepting a transfer.
Try These Steps:
- Click the Ticketmaster logo or link at the top of the page
- Log in again
- Refresh and check your tickets
If the issue continues:
- Wait 10 minutes and try the original transfer link again
- Use a private/incognito browser window
- Try a different browser or device
"These Tickets Have Been Accepted by Another Email Address"
This usually means you're signed into a different Ticketmaster account than the one that received the transfer.
To Fix It:
- Sign out of Ticketmaster completely
- Return to the original transfer email
- Click Accept Tickets again
- Sign in using the email address that received the tickets
My Ticket Doesn't Show a Barcode. Is It Valid?
Yes.
Many Ticketmaster tickets use SafeTix, which feature encrypted or rotating barcodes.
In some cases—especially when saved to a mobile wallet—the barcode may not be visible. This is expected behavior.
As long as the ticket appears in your account or wallet, it remains valid for entry.
Pro Tips for a Smooth Entry
- Use the same device to accept and present your tickets
- Add tickets to your mobile wallet as soon as they're available
- Charge your phone before arriving at the venue
- Increase screen brightness when presenting tickets for scanning
- Don't worry if your SafeTix ticket doesn't display a visible barcode
